[ARCHIVED] Back to School Bash: First Responders Night & Last Summer Concert: TONIGHT, Memorial Field

First Responders Night and Concert

Don't miss the "Back to School Bash" on Wednesday, Sept 4 at Veterans Memorial Field.  First Responders Night plus the last summer concert of the season featuring the Idol Kings (Journey, Tom Petty & John Mellencamp).  


Tonight's Back-to-School/First Responder/Concert Festival, presented by Berkeley Heights Recreation and Berkeley Heights Business & Civic, is ON for tonight, at Veterans Memorial Park!

From 5:30pm-6:30pm, kids can explore fire trucks and other emergency response vehicles, talk to our amazing first responders, and enjoy free goodies.  

There will be also be kid-friendly dinner fare - much of it free! - available, including:

  • Burgers - singles & doubles
  • Hot Dogs
  • Fried Chicken Sandwiches
  • Crinkle Fries
  • Ice Cream Sandwiches
  • Rita's Ice
  • Grain & Cane Food Truck

Come visit with all our awesome first responders - BH Police Dept, BH Fire Dept, and BH Volunteer Rescue Squad.

BHPD will be selling #19 Annie t-shirts; proceeds will be donated to the Annabelle Young Foundation.

Sponsored by the BH Rotary Club, Berkeley Aquatic Club, Grain & Cain, Taylor Rental and Smith Chiropractic Foundation, the event will feature activities including:

  • Dunk tank
  • FREE bounce house
  • Free Rita's Italian ices - scooped by local "celebrities" 
  • Free Taylor Rental popcorn
  • Free Smith Chiropractic bottled water
  • Free gift card drawings to Goodman's, Delicious Heights, and Grain & Cain
  • A TAPinto family photo contest with a $100 gift cards to DH and Goodman's


Sponsor booths from the BH YMCA, e-medical Urgent Care, EXCEL Physical Therapy, Pearly Whites, Primrose School of Berkeley Heights, Delicious Heights and BHB&C, as well as more free giveaways. 

Extra Bonus - members of the Master Plan Team will be there.  It's a great opportunity to give YOUR INPUT into the Township Master Plan! 

Grab your friends and/or neighbors - what a great way to end the summer with a bang AND catch up with friends who have been away all summer.  Dinner will be available (how easy is that?!?) - all you need to do is drive over and maybe bring a blanket or chairs.
