Grab your rakes, Berkeley Heights! Mayor Angie Devanney, on behalf of the Berkeley Heights Environmental Commission (‘BHEC”), has officially thrown down the gauntlet, or heavy-duty glove as the case may be, issuing Berkeley Height’s challenge to Westfield for an Adopt-A-Drain duel. This “Game of Drains Challenge” begins on Thanksgiving Day and runs until New Year’s Day.
Mayor Devanney and the BHEC intend this invitation for a friendly, spirited competition among the neighboring communities to prompt a fun way to keep community members engaged in a family-friendly activity during this holiday season that will help both municipalities reduce the amount of leaves and other debris that enter their storm drains, minimize obstructions in their stormwater infrastructure, and keep both Adopt-A-Drain programs thriving.
