[ARCHIVED] Severe Weather Alert for Monday, May 16

Weather Alert May 16 2022

The threat for severe thunderstorms on Monday is increasing with our area in an "Enhanced Risk" by the  National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center. The center issued that Enhances Risk Level of severe thunderstorms from Upstate New York to Northern Virginia. The main threat for our area is heavy thunderstorms, damaging wind gusts but large hail and a tornado are not out of the question. Additionally, flash flooding may accompany any slow-moving thunderstorms for this region, with a slightly more elevated heavy rain threat located in northern New York and Vermont, where a Slight Risk (level 2/4) for excessive rainfall has been issued.

Stay tuned to your local weather station for future weather updates as they become available. Meanwhile, you may want to ready your generators and prepare for possible power outages.
