[ARCHIVED] Clap/Bang it Out for Our Healthcare Workers & EMS TONIGHT at 7 pm!

Come Together Clapout

All Berkeley Heights residents are urged to walk outside onto their lawns on Friday at 7 p.m. when you hear the fire and police sirens to participate in the town-wide clap out to show appreciation for the health care workers at the long-term care (LTCs) facilities and emergency response workers. As always, please remember to keep a safe social distance from your neighbors!

Berkeley Heights first responders including members of the Berkeley Heights Fire Department, Rescue Squad and Police Department will participate in a drive by at Runnells Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare to honor the frontline healthcare workers.

The health care workers at Autumn Lake Healthcare and Runnells Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare have been working day and night taking care of some of our town’s most vulnerable residents in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of them falling victim to the virus themselves. Meanwhile, many residents in town are health care workers elsewhere, taking care of COVID-19 patients. And with next week being National EMS Week, this clapout will not only show appreciation for our health care workers, but also for all of our emergency responders here in Berkeley Heights.

Members of our Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad, Berkeley Heights Volunteer Fire Department, Berkeley Heights Police Department and Office of Emergency Management have been helping put safety precautions and procedures into place, keeping our resident safe, transporting potential COVID-19 patients, and otherwise putting themselves in harm’s way in the midst of this global health pandemic.

So when hear the fire alarm in the center of town go off, please go engage in the town-wide clapout so all the healthcare workers, emergency responders and police at the far edges of town hear you!
