Want to Remove a Tree? You Need a Permit!
If for anyone wants to remove a deciduous tree over eight inches in diameter or an evergreen tree over six feet tall from a property or right of way, the Township ordinance requires they apply for a permit. The tree ordinance applies to all properties in the township regardless of where the tree is located: commercial property, private residences, and school properties.
The ordinance is here: Tree Ordinance
Any person violating or causing to be violated any of the provisions this chapter shall be subject to a fine.
Permits must be issued by the Zoning Officer for tree removal on private property for trees 8 inches in caliper or greater. Residents may remove up to three trees in a calendar year at $10 per tree.
Each tree thereafter costs $50 per tree.
